Morgan Baum is a small business owner, community leader, fundraiser, and problem-solver who believes strong communities are built by listening well, working together, and taking responsibility for getting things done.

As owner of Clay Coyote Pottery, Morgan leads a longtime Hutchinson small business — supporting local jobs, navigating the challenges of entrepreneurship, growing revenue, and finding practical solutions when resources are limited. Her work has taught her that every decision has a cost, relationships matter, and good leadership means looking beyond the immediate problem to what will make an organization stronger for the long term.

Throughout her career, Morgan has led teams and organizations in small business, nonprofit fundraising, advocacy, and community service. She has spent decades bringing people together around complicated challenges, building partnerships, raising resources, managing budgets, and turning ideas into action.

That same approach shapes how she wants to serve Hutchinson: listen first, ask good questions, do the homework, and make thoughtful decisions with the long-term health of the community in mind.

Morgan is an active community volunteer and serves in leadership roles with local and statewide arts organizations. She holds a B.S. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin–River Falls and an M.S. in Fundraising Management from Columbia University.

Most importantly, Morgan is a wife and mom who chose Hutchinson as the place to build a business, raise a family, and put down roots. She wants Hutchinson to remain a community where families can afford to live, businesses can thrive, infrastructure is cared for, and neighbors know their voices matter.

Morgan often comes back to one simple belief: a high tide lifts all boats.
